Joan Wakelin photographed Grove Street, one of the streets within a stone's throw of her home in Bath. Her camera recorded the people and activities in and around Grove Street, which is situated adjacent to Pulteney Bridge and has an enviable position being both on the river and close to the various local shops, salons and restaurants. It even has an office block, a "corner shop" and a night club.
